Many teachers are doing an about face when it comes to using technology in the classroom! They are reverting back to paper and pencil, hands-on activities, and
just being more intentional about the use of technology. Many elective teachers are also being asked to incorporate ELA and Math concepts into their lesson plans. All About Me TikTok Scripts Adapted to FCS Content Areas checks all the boxes! It’s tech without using actual tech and very much ELA based. Thanks to Brian Tolentino for sharing the original TIkTok Script activity on FaceBook and giving me permision to adapt it! Hope you can utilize this in your classes.
Teacher Notes
- As I was adapting this activity, I got to thinking that it could be used at either the beginning of the year as a to get to know your students type of activity and/or at the end of the year to see how much students have learned, grown, changed, etc. If doing both, it may be fun to do a comparison of the two to see how far they’ve come after taking your class.
- Also, if you wish, you could have student include 4-6 doodles that correspond with the information they share when completing their poems, especially if you plan to hang them. If you do include doodles, you will need to provide students with colored pencils or markers.
- You can have students write their script at the end of the guidesheet or you can cut each literary device apart and set it up as stations for students to work through. When they’re finished with all of the stations, they will have a finished script.
- Finally, I tried to create one of these for every FCS content area that I could think of. If I’ve left one out, let me know and I’ll do my best to include it.
